STEP 1
On your Mac, create a new folder in your desired location and name it something recognizable for easy access later. Place any files you wish to transfer to your VPS in this folder.
In this example, we’ve created a folder on the desktop and named it “Shared Folder.”
STEP 2
Open the Microsoft Remote Desktop application and click the edit icon next to your remote computer in the list. The edit icon will appear once you hover your mouse cursor over the remote computer.
STEP 3
In the new window, you can modify additional settings for your remote computer. To add a shared folder for convenient file transfers, go to the Folders tab, check the box for Redirect folders, and click the + icon at the bottom to add your folder to the list.
STEP 4
Select the folder you have created in Step 1. In our case, it is the Shared Folder on the Desktop.
Once you have added folder to the list, save the settings and establish connection to your VPS by clicking on your remote computer.
STEP 5
Once you connect to your VPS, open File Explorer by clicking the icon on the taskbar. Then, select the shared folder from the menu on the left side. If everything has been set up correctly, you’ll see all the files you moved to this folder on your Mac.
In this example, we placed a folder, a text file, and an image file in the Shared Folder on our Mac. After completing the steps above, you can now access these files on your VPS and transfer them to your desired location.
